Thankful for the interruption to her studying, Violet had packed up her things long before she and Parker had decided to meet up for ice cream. She had barely gotten started on the paper she was meant to be writing, but Vi knew she'd get it done eventually. It wasn't due in for a few days yet, so she had plenty of time. And now that she'd been distracted by Parker, concentrating on it would be impossible. Considering she'd spent much of the morning staring outside at the beautiful weather was enough to convince Vi she needed a break, even if she didn't exactly deserve it.
Whether it was her excitement about seeing Parker, or wanting to get out of the house that spurred Violet into packing her bag quickly, she wasn't sure. But she'd gotten changed into her swimsuit, gotten dressed back into her clothes and packed her bag with time to spare, which was practically unheard of for Violet. Considering she had no idea what she and Parker would get up to, Vi had thrown pretty much everything she could think of in her bag. A towel, her wallet, her phone, a hairbrush, and numerous other pieces of junk she'd manage to collect over the years. Making sure she had all the necessaries, Violet threw out some of the more odd items in her bag, like the water gun from however long ago, grabbed her keys and headed out of her apartment. She was going to be early, but she didn't mind waiting for Parker in the sunshine. Plus, the surprise on his face when she arrived before him would be priceless.
Getting into her car, Vi started the ignition, smiling as her beat up little sedan grunted into action. It was an old little thing, Vi could never remember the make of it, but the moment she'd set her eyes on the scarlet paint job, she'd wanted it. She'd had it for nearly two years now, and it still worked almost perfectly. Despite taking her time driving to the lakeside, Violet was still early. Heaving a sigh, she stepped out of the car, grabbed her bag, and locked the door behind her. She doubted anyone would want to ever steal it, but she didn't want to risk it. Since there was no sign of Parker, Violet made her way to one of the benches lining the grassy area next to the lake, and sat down, waiting for the arrival of her friend.
