Ollie weaved through the night crowd, his hood pulled up over his head to avoid being noticed. So far, it was working as he weaved through the busy Saturday night crowd filled with mostly tourists. He had no idea that a small town could draw in so many people, though then again, he was there. Yet despite the size of the location and the low population, it was still somewhat hard to keep his fame under the wraps. Especially at places with high level of tourists. So really, it made absolutely no sense that Oliver would be at the carnival tonight. Except if there was one thing he couldn't resist, it was definitely this. When he was young, he remembered begging his father for money to buy a bracelet to the carnival back at his hometown in England. Of course his father had refused, but his mother had slipped him enough money to ride everything for one night. So he would sneak out of the house and run an entire mile just to get there. It had been a beautiful escape for one night and as a child the lights of the rides and booths made it look like he was in a wonderland. Despite growing older, he still had that childlike enthusiasm written all over his face. He wasn't bothered by being alone. Sometimes it was nice to just be by himself for a bit, though he was less likely to get interrupted when he was accompanied by somebody. But after riding the tilt a whirl for the second time by himself, he was starting to get antsy for somebody to hang out with. He moved over toward the booths, paying quickly for two spools of cotton candy, and then without even questioning it, turned to the first person he saw and handed them the one. Hey, he needed somebody to ride the ferris wheel with after all! |
